Center of Robotics and Mechatronics Application in Agriculture (CROMEA2) is a research center that focuses on exploration of robotics and mechatronics application in agriculture related area. More specifically its main focus is application in tropical agriculture which is much different with sub-tropical or other agricultural system. The following is the logo of our group. As symbolized in our logo we would like to give added value from every single activity of our group.
During last few decades there was extensive research on application and robotics and mechatronics in agriculture, especially in East Asia, United State, and Europe. However there are many differences between sub-tropical and tropical agriculture in term of climatic condition, product, tradition, culture and so on. Tropical agriculture is unique. There is a high biodiversity which most of them are still unexplored; abundant sun light and also rain water which can be used as energy source and also enable plant production all year long. By introducing advanced development of robotics and mechatronics, CROMEA2 tries to explore that great potential for improving our life quality.
Our Mission :
As part of our commitment and also values, we expect that every member in our group should continuously develop their competencies and skills. As illustrated in the following figure we have six dimension of competencies/skills: Fundamental knowledge in science and engineering, Communication and Collaboration (team work), Self-motivation, Creativity and Innovation, Problem Solving, and also Social awareness.
